Gary Griffiths

Born in Pembrokeshire, Gary has lived in North Wales throughout his adult life. A self-taught landscape artist he retired five years ago to focus on painting and his work is displayed in galleries across Wales and in Ireland.

Whilst practising traditional watercolour techniques that exploit the transparency of the medium, he is also drawn to exploring depths of colour and tone. Constantly learning and experimenting his works capture transient moments in the drama of the landscape. His process of painting leads into making discoveries and being alert to unforeseen directions signposted by the medium itself.
